About
An independent practice.
Built with care.
Serenarva was created because the tools that actually help — hypnotherapy, mindfulness, and deliberate self-talk — were scattered, clinical-feeling, or buried inside generic wellness apps. We built one place that does all three well.
Our Mission
Make inner work accessible — and actually work.
Most people know they need to sleep better, stress less, or break a habit. The hard part isn't knowing — it's changing what's happening beneath the surface. That's where Serenarva operates.
We believe therapeutic audio — when it's produced with intention and clinical grounding — is one of the most effective and underused tools available for everyday people. You don't need a therapist's waiting room or a meditation retreat. You need 15 minutes and a quiet space.
Every session in the library is written to create real results: measurable shifts in sleep, anxiety, focus, and confidence. Not vague "wellness." Specific outcomes.
of adults report that stress negatively affects their physical health — yet most have never tried a structured intervention like hypnotherapy or guided self-talk.
Hypnosis has been shown to be roughly three times as effective as nicotine replacement alone for smoking cessation — one of the most-cited entry points into the clinical literature.
Methodology
Why this combination works.
Each modality targets a different mechanism of change. Used together, they compound.
Hypnosis
Clinical hypnosis works by narrowing attentional focus and increasing responsiveness to suggestion — making it easier to access and update deeply held beliefs and behavioral patterns. Research supports its application in pain management, anxiety, sleep disorders, and habit change.
The evidence base spans meta-analyses in JAMA, The Lancet, and the International Journal of Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis.
Meditation
Mindfulness-based practices have one of the strongest evidence bases in behavioral medicine, with demonstrated effects on cortisol regulation, amygdala reactivity, and prefrontal cortex thickness. Regular practice trains the nervous system to remain regulated under stress.
Serenarva uses breath-anchored mindfulness and body-scan protocols, grounded in MBSR and MBCT frameworks.
Self-Talk
The language we use internally shapes affect, motivation, and behavior. Guided self-talk sessions use a structured I-statement / You-statement framework — drawn from CBT and positive psychology — to replace critical inner narration with language that builds accurate self-worth.
This isn't affirmation culture. The scripts are written to feel true — not aspirational in ways the mind rejects.
The compound effect
Used separately, each modality produces meaningful results. Used together in a structured practice, they reinforce one another: hypnosis lowers the threshold for new beliefs, meditation builds the attentional stability to hold them, and self-talk ensures the language you use day-to-day stays consistent with the changes you're making.
Serenarva programs are sequenced with this compounding in mind.
The Person Behind It
Ericka Thomas
Ericka built Serenarva after years of personal interest in the psychology of behavior change — and increasing frustration that the most effective tools (hypnotherapy in particular) remained inaccessible to most people. Too clinical. Too expensive. Too hard to find in a form you'd actually use at 11pm when you can't sleep.
Serenarva is an independent project — one person, no VC funding, no growth-at-all-costs mandate. The library is built session by session, with genuine attention to what the content is actually doing. Every script goes through content validation and human review before it reaches listeners.
If you have feedback, a session request, or just want to say something worked — the contact link in the footer goes directly to Ericka.
What "independent" means here
- → Sessions are written and reviewed for quality — not volume
- → No ads, no data selling, no engagement bait
- → Subscription pricing that's fair — and honest about what you get
- → Direct contact with the person who built it
"I built the app I wished existed when I was trying to fix my sleep and couldn't find anything that felt credible and accessible at the same time."
